• When you first visit TickerSpot, an anonymous session is automatically created. No name, email address, or any other personal information is ever required or collected.
• A session creation timestamp associated with your anonymous session ID

2.2 Investment Theme Data

• Automated groupings of your stock picks by investment theme
• Mathematical representations derived from your portfolio used to find stocks with similar characteristics
• Theme labels describing your investment interests

2.3 Portfolio Data

• Companies you add to your portfolio (ticker symbols and company names)
• We do not collect share counts, cost basis, purchase prices, or any financial transaction data

2.4 Portfolio Activity

• Companies you add to or remove from your portfolio
• Stocks you skip or refresh (used solely to show you the right stock ideas)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Find similar stocks — We analyze your portfolio to surface stocks that share characteristics with the ones you already follow.
• Group your picks by theme — We organize your portfolio into investment themes to deliver relevant stock ideas
• Pre-compute and serve stock ideas — We calculate similar stocks for each of your themes for fast delivery
• Ensure security — We monitor for suspicious activity to protect your session

• Row Level Security (RLS) - Database access is restricted so users can only access their own data
• API-First Architecture - All data access goes through secured API endpoints with authentication
• JWT Authentication - Secure token-based authentication with automatic expiration
• No Direct Database Access - Your browser never connects directly to our database

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

Anonymous sessions and their associated data (portfolio, stock ideas, skipped stocks) are retained while the session is active.

Anonymous sessions that have been inactive for an extended period may be automatically purged along with all associated data.

There is no account to delete — you can remove individual stocks from your portfolio at any time directly within the app.

7. Your Rights

Because TickerSpot uses anonymous sessions only, most data control is available to you directly in the app:

• View your data — Your portfolio is visible to you at all times in the app
• Delete your data — You can remove any or all stocks from your portfolio directly in the app
• Other requests — For data requests beyond what the app provides, contact us. Note that without a persistent account identifier, we may have limited ability to locate or action specific data.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use only essential cookies required for the platform to function:

These include Supabase authentication tokens that maintain your anonymous session. They are required for the platform to function and you cannot opt out of essential cookies.

TickerSpot does not use any analytics, marketing, or tracking cookies.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, as our third-party service providers operate infrastructure internationally. When data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

TickerSpot is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at nick@ovoloc.com, and we will delete such information.
